Odyssey

Im kind of glad that we're done with the Odyssey now. I mean, it was kind of cool in the beginning, but as the days went on it just got more and more boring. After chapter 12 I found reading become much more of a hassle than beneficial. Really the only part that I thought was good, was chapter 22 when Odysseus and Telemachus kill all the suitors, and after that it got boring again. So in summary, I'm pretty happy that we're done with it, because I really don't like it anymore.

Colbert's book

So I'm still on the first chapter, because they are fairly long, and I want this to be my only outside reading book for this quarter, instead of last quarter where I read two. The book is getting a bit more serious though, and focusing on his life as a child, which is nice, because I was getting very tired of hearing about why a single-mother family would be dysfunctional. He keeps talking about how great his family is compared to others, and to be honest it gets a little tiring. But I'm going to keep reading this book to the end, so hopefully it will get better, and a bit more controversial, which makes it amusing.

Sickness

So far this week, I have been sick, and it has not been fun at all. I think this weekend has been one of the worst weekends I've had in a while because I've been out with the flu. I have to say one thing, when I have a three day weekend, and I'm forced to sit on my bed and watch TV all day because I'm too weak to get up and hang out with my friends, you know I have been having a bad weekend. But enough about that, now I'm going to talk about school in class. So far we're reading the Odyssey and I don't really like it. I know it's a classic but it still seems boring and dry, or at least it has been since chapter 12. I've seen the movie, so I know what happens for the most part, and I've read a lot about the story in latin, so it isn't as interesting to me as it should be...

Colbert's book

So for my outside reading book, I am reading the Stephen Colbert book, I Am America (And So Can You) which is hilarious. The reason I decided to read this book is because Stephen Colbert is hilarious on the Colbert Report, and when I saw he had wrote a book, I had to read it, and so far its been hilarious. He has been talking about his family as a child, and how a functional family should work, and what is not a functional family. Although it is technically a biography, it has a lot of random stuff that doesn't really relate to his life, and is kind of annoying, because I don't like random sidetracks.
